My name is Tiago Salgado, I’m 29 years old, and I was born and raised in Albufeira, Portugal. I’ve always drawn since I was a child and it was obvious that I stood out from my schoolmates in some way. In high school I studied Visual Arts for 3 years, but when it came time to choose my path at university, I ended up studying Sports. 

I spent 5 years as a Personal Trainer, but I never felt fulfilled. At some point I started drawing again and started to feel motivated again. I looked for solutions in the area and since I was already tattooing myself, I considered why not going from being a client to being a tattoo artist? (I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it before, but I believe that everything happens when it’s supposed to).

I started looking for help, someone who could help me get started correctly, because I don’t like things half-done, I’m very perfectionist and ambitious and if I was going to start, I wanted it to be in a way that would push me forward quickly, avoiding a lot of mistakes. A tattoo artist friend offered to give me an intensive course in August 2022, and since then my life has revolved around tattooing. 

I have already taken countless workshops with internationally renowned tattoo artists, including Neon Judas, Fábio Guerreiro, Beyker, Hernanyepes and Coreh Lopez, and I will continue to seek to learn more, because feeling stagnant is feeling useless. I couldn’t feel more fulfilled and grateful at this moment, and I hope to continue to contribute a lot to this area!
