Thomas Bower is a tattoo artist, illustrator and musician originally from Sheffield, England; now based in Bochum, Germany. He developed a love for art as a child through comics and manga and went on to began his career journey with freelance illustration work predominantly in the music scene. Having been a tattoo enthusiast from an early age he gained the opportunity to begin an apprenticeship in 2020, building his style into the mixture of bold black linework elements and fine engraving detail and soft shading that encompasses the majority of his work. When he isn’t tattooing he pursues his other creative passion as a musician and songwriter for the band Fox Red.

Thomas has tattooed across multiple continents at this early stage in his career, and continues to build and experiment with the medium. He takes primary influence from classical engraving style artwork, as well as pop art, pen & ink illustration and comic art. His biggest passion is the integration and juxtaposition of bold, uncompromising black elements alongside finely detailed and textured surrealist imagery and nature illustration. Thomas will continue to travel and tattoo across Europe and the UK in coming years, with a particular emphasis on learning, expanding and honing his personal style, exploring new approaches to illustrative blackwork whilst maintaining a respectful connection to the history of the craft.
