Doo

📍London, UK

I am a Korean tattoo artist based in London, UK, who started my career in a country where tattooing was illegal for many years. Although the law is now gradually changing, the journey was full of challenges, which I believe shaped a unique identity for Korean tattoo culture. Because tattooing had to remain private, artists had to create exceptionally strong portfolios to earn clients’ trust. Most Korean tattoo artists work under artist names rather than their real names. My name, Doo, comes from my dog’s name. It is easy to remember, does not suggest gender or a specific image, and allowed me to stay hidden, a name I still truly love.

I majored in fine art in Korea and wanted to continue drawing after graduation. Rather than large canvases, I prefer small, detailed work, which led me to tattooing. I focus primarily on micro realism, capturing images with precision and emotional depth.I have completed guest work in over 10 countries and regularly participate in international tattoo conventions to meet other artists and exchange ideas. These experiences shape my growth and influence my work for each client. I have participated in Culture Cartel, World of Ink, Napoli Tattoo Expo, UK Tattoo Manchester, Hana Tattoo Expo, and the London Tattoo Show, and was awarded Best Small Black & Grey – 2nd Place at the UK Tattoo Manchester Tattoo Convention.
