Born and raised in Surrey, Grit is a self-taught artist now residing in Cornwall, UK. Grit has always been a “tinkerer”, obsessing over engineering, building, and structures since a young age, going on to train in technical drawing during their time as a Goldsmith in 2015. It was during this time that Grit began learning to tattoo, beginning as a stick and poke artist and then transitioning into a full time machine artist six years later. Grit’s background in technical drawing and high-precision work, combined with an interest in history has formed the unique and intricate style present in their tattooing career to date.

Since delving into the full-time world of tattooing, Grit has travelled across the UK and Europe for conventions and guest spots. They actively participate in competitions, and have recently become an award-winning black and grey artist. Grit is constantly seeking new ways of working, honing skills through creative exchanges and seminars to continually push their work out of their comfort zone. Whilst predominantly focusing on black and grey and blackwork - Grit strives to push boundaries in the world of tattooing, exploring new techniques, combining styles, and drawing inspiration from unexpected places and their flagship studio, The Worst Generation, will open in Truro early 2026.
