I’m a tattoo artist from Durham in the North East of England. Art has always been my focus and my medium was always a biro pen. After studying Illustration and Animation at Newcastle College, tattooing was suggested to me, but at 18 it felt intimidating, so I pursued other paths, including the Royal Navy and working in mental health, while continuing commissions.
Although life pulled me in other directions, art never left. At 32 and not getting any younger I decided to commit fully and pursued tattooing. After several knockbacks, I began my apprenticeship under Alex Williamson at Lost Tower Tattoo in Hartlepool, where I still work today.
My style focuses on detail and texture, a technique I strive to carry into every tattoo.
I specialise in black and grey, colour realism and cover-ups. With a passion for horror and large scale pieces.Over the past year especially, I’ve been covering a lot of old unwanted tattoos. There’s something incredibly rewarding about transforming a tattoo someone has hidden for years into something they’re genuinely proud to show off. This year I’ll be tattooing at The Big North Tattoo Show and I’m also planning more guest spots throughout the year. I feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be now, proof that it’s never too late to take the long way round and still end up doing what you love.
