Piece of Art

📍Zevenhuizen, the Netherlands

My name is Karin, I was born and still live in a small town in the Netherlands near Rotterdam. From a young age, I was always drawing, expressing my vivid imagination through creativity.  Nature, insects, flowers and animals provide me with a great deal of inspiration. At the age of twelve, I developed a fascination for tattoos—art on your body! When I was twenty-four, a tattoo shop asked me to create designs after I had made some for friends. Two years later, when the studio closed, I decided to continue on my own under the name Piece of Art. As a self-taught artist, I learned the craft mainly by attending conventions, observing others, drawing, and practicing—a lot of practice…

Now, fifteen years later, I run a private studio where clients feel at home and share their personal stories. My inspiration comes from those stories: transforming happiness, sorrow, and memories into art that is worn with pride for a lifetime. Over the years, I have developed a style that truly suits me. Fineline, mandala, geometric, ornamental, delicate linework – I enjoy combining these with flowers, insects, animals and watercolour shades. I am very grateful that my clients give me the opportunity to further develop this style.
