How did you first get into tattooing, and what inspired you to choose it as your profession?

I originally studied fine arts and printmaking. Toward the end of my studies, my cousin encouraged me to tattoo her. She was friends with a studio owner, which gave me the opportunity to try tattooing for the first time. That initial experience completely shifted my perspective — it felt far more natural and intuitive than I had imagined.

From that moment on, I began directing all my energy toward tattooing, and I haven’t looked back since. I had always been drawn to tattoo culture — the atmosphere, the lifestyle, and the creative freedom it offers — but I believed it was something extremely difficult to access, requiring years upon years of training. While that part is true, I quickly realized that the dedication was worth it.

Tattooing allows me to combine my fine art background with human connection and permanent storytelling, and today I can confidently say it’s the most fulfilling profession I could have chosen.

Over your seven years of experience, what moments or challenges have shaped you the most as an artist?

More than anything, my own evolution has shaped me the most — constantly pushing myself to become a better artist after every single tattoo, whether it’s a simple piece or a technically demanding one. I approach each project as an opportunity to grow, refine my skills, and deepen my understanding of the craft.

The people around me have also played a significant role. Working alongside different colleagues taught me valuable lessons — some showed me how things shouldn’t be done, which surprisingly helped clarify my own values, while others inspired me through their support, professionalism, and creativity.

Guest spots have been another major influence, allowing me to observe how similar techniques are approached differently in various environments. Social media has also been a powerful learning tool — not just for discovering techniques, but for exploring diverse styles and connecting with artists whose dedication reminds me that hard work truly pays off.

You work with American and Japanese traditional styles, as well as fine line — how would you describe your artistic identity today?

Today, my artistic identity is rooted primarily in American traditional — it’s where I feel the strongest connection and where my passion truly lives. I’m deeply drawn to its boldness, timeless motifs, and clarity of expression.

I also love Japanese traditional, although I approach it with humility, knowing there is still much to learn within that style. It continues to challenge and inspire me.

Fine line became part of my practice through guest spots, where it was often in high demand. Over time, I developed strong technical confidence in it. Ultimately, my identity revolves around American traditional motifs infused with my personal touch — combining structure with individuality, tradition with growth.

What attracts you to traditional tattooing?

What attracts me most to traditional tattooing is its boldness and clarity — you can recognize the image instantly, even from a distance.

I love how the limited color palette is thoughtfully balanced. It feels powerful without becoming overwhelming. It embodies the idea that less is more. Strong motifs can be created with minimal elements while remaining visually striking and timeless.

I also deeply appreciate the audience drawn to traditional tattoos. They tend to value the craft — the history, the skill, and the discipline behind the style. There’s a mutual respect in that process that makes it even more meaningful for me as an artist.

How do you balance traditional rules with personal expression?

For me, personal expression exists within traditional tattooing rather than outside of it. I don’t believe in breaking the rules; I believe in understanding and respecting them first.

The foundation of traditional tattooing gives the work its strength. My personal touch comes through subtle adjustments in composition, movement, and shading — small elements that make the design recognizable as mine while remaining unmistakably traditional.

I don’t aim to reinvent the style. I aim to honor it while leaving a distinct signature.

Can you describe your creative process?

Everything begins with the client — their ideas, preferences, and intentions. Once I understand their vision and have creative freedom within my style, I gather references and focus on building a composition designed specifically for the body.

Placement and flow are essential. The main subject must remain dominant and instantly recognizable, while secondary elements support balance and cohesion.

Color selection follows traditional palettes whenever possible. I avoid overloading the design and prioritize clarity and timelessness.

In the end, my goal is to create a piece that respects the client’s wishes while carrying my signature style — something intentional, wearable, and meaningful.

What technical aspects are most important for clarity and longevity?

Clarity begins with restraint. I avoid overcrowding designs, especially in traditional tattooing where simplicity is key.

Boldness doesn’t just mean thick outlines — it comes from balanced composition, thoughtful spacing, and intentional color use.

Longevity is critical. I design knowing that lines will soften and colors may fade. Solid shapes, open spaces, and strong contrast ensure the tattoo ages gracefully and maintains its identity over time.

How do you build trust and communication with clients?

Most clients find me through Instagram, so trust begins there. Consistency is key — sharing work, process, and passion over time.

I actively share new drawings and designs so clients understand my artistic direction before entering the studio. When it comes to traditional styles, I also emphasize the respect behind the aesthetic.

Over the years, I’ve seen growing interest in traditional tattooing within my client base. I believe that comes from consistently delivering quality work and honoring the foundations of the style while keeping it fresh and personal.

What are your artistic goals for the coming years?

My long-term goal is clear: to focus exclusively on traditional tattooing and build a strong community of clients who genuinely appreciate the style.

I aim to dedicate myself to large-scale traditional projects without compromising artistic alignment.

I’ve also launched a monthly print project called @tigerprintclub, where members receive curated physical prints designed entirely by me. It allows me to expand creatively beyond skin while staying connected to my visual language.

Ultimately, I want to deepen both paths — creating impactful traditional tattoos and building a creative ecosystem around my work.
