My name is Alexandros Prenta, and I’m a tattoo artist from Greece. Growing up, I was inspired by my older brother to explore art, especially through graffiti. At 24, a spontaneous suggestion from a friend sparked my journey into tattooing. I began practicing on fake skin before friends and family offered their own skin as my first canvases. Quickly, tattooing became more than a hobby — it became a passion. Determined to grow, I apprenticed at Prive Tattoo Studio in Athens, where I took my first professional steps. A year later, I moved to Manchester, UK. Though building a client base was a challenge at first, hard work paid off. Today, I’m proud to be part of North of Winter, one of the UK’s leading tattoo studios.
I began my apprenticeship rooted in neotraditional style. My mentor, known across Greece and beyond for his dotwork ornamental pieces, left a big mark on my early work. Over time, my style became a fusion — I love weaving realism into blackwork ornamentals and bold pattern work. Working in busy walk-in shops pushed me to take on every style that came through the door, and through that chaos, I slowly started carving out my own artistic voice. Even now, I’m still searching for that perfect balance in my designs. I’m lucky to be surrounded by a team that pushes me, inspires me, and helps me grow into the artist I’m meant to be.
