Joco Tattoo

📍Stafford, UK

I’m Jodie - a tattoo artist based at The Descent of Man in Stafford, UK. Originally from Ilfracombe, North Devon, I always had a passion for drawing and painting. Moving to Brighton to study art, I found myself gravitate to portraiture through my love of artists like Jonathan Yeo, Hope Gangloff and Sam Spratt. After years of designing tattoos and building a portfolio alongside completing a Masters in Psychology, I began my tattoo career at 24 through an apprenticeship in 2020. I grew up with such a respect for the craft of tattooing, and since stepping into this lifestyle, I haven’t looked back. I’m thankful everyday to the clients who put their trust in me and my work.

Further into my apprenticeship, I knew I wanted to channel my love for realism and portraiture into my tattoo work. I now consider myself a black and grey realism artist, and while open to all styles of work, this is a style I’ve always felt very devoted to. I find the challenge of executing this style motivates me both technically and creatively to become a better artist. I have completed guest spots in Devon, as well as conventions in the local area, with more plans in the pipeline. I’m forever thankful to my wonderful clients who keep me doing a job I love, and the team of amazing artists I’m lucky to work alongside.
